Over on our Instagram, we’ve been sharing some wedding planning tips! You guys have been loving it so we compiled a list of the tips we’ve shared so far here!
1. Pick in-season florals
When choosing your florals for your wedding, pick flowers that are in season. Flowers in season will look the freshest and be less expensive than an out-of-season flower. You can rely on your florist to know best. Keep in mind, there are many flowers that bloom year-round such as roses, orchids, carnations, delphinium, calla lily, protea, scabiosa, and many others!
2. Create an email address dedicated to your wedding
We already know how hard it can be to keep your inbox organized. Keeping an email specifically for your wedding will help keep your wedding-related correspondence organized and all in one place. It's also an easy way to sign up for those engagement or wedding perks without being bombarded in your personal email!
One of our followers suggests creating an email with your soon-to-be last name!
3. Make time for self-care!
We all know planning a wedding can be stressful. It can be a year of your life (or more)! The last thing you want is to look back on the year and only remember the stress of planning a wedding. You’re engaged! Enjoy your engagement and make sure to take breaks from planning and relax. Have date nights where anything wedding-related is an off-limits topic! And remember, your wedding is going to be amazing!
4. Do your marriage license research!
During all the wedding planning, it's easy to forget the actual paperwork needed! Look into where to obtain the license, what's required, and how the timing works as it can vary depending on where you're getting married. It’s also a good idea to, give a copy of your marriage license to a maid of honor or best man just in case.
Also, don’t forget to bring the license to the wedding itself!
5. Don't forget to clean your ring!💍
Your wedding will definitely be a day you will be showing off your engagement ring & wedding bands. Make sure your rings look as striking as possible and get them cleaned before the big day!
6. Don't be afraid to ask!
When working with your vendors, it can't hurt to ask if something you want for your wedding is a possibility. They are the experts and will be able to tell you what can and can't work within your wedding budget. But you won't know until you ask! This also goes along with our next tip.
7. There are no "wedding rules"
Don't get caught up in what "you're supposed to do or not do" and forget that this is your and your partners' day! Letting go of any rules or expectations opens your wedding to the possibility of creating a totally unique wedding!
