Valentine's Day is extra special for me personally, because dbandrea started with a Valenine's bouquet!
I started pressing flowers years ago after receiving a beautiful bouquet from my then boyfriend (now fiancé). It was during that time that I learned that his grandmother used the same process to preserve flowers. After I started experimenting with pressed flowers I realized they could become the foundation for my artistic career.
Pictured above is my Valentine's bouquet along with my first pressed designs!
FUN FACTS:
- I occasionally find my fiancé's grandmother's flowers in her old books.
- My fiancé Justin was helping his grandmother press flowers before I was even born.
- Pictured here is my fiancé Justin, as a child, with flowers he pressed with his grandmother. Little did he know that his future wife would create a career from it!
